Background

There are more than 13 million car accidents every year in the United States. After collisions, drivers are left to deal with damaged vehicles, looming insurance claims, and all the confusion and uncertainty that comes with them. With Accident Advisor, automakers can now offer post-accident guidance leveraging data from telematics, mobile devices and artificial intelligence to provide the first end-to-end post-collision experience for OEMs, insurers and drivers.

Description

For CCC, I designed Accident Advisor, an app that lets drivers document accidents, initiate a claim with their insurer and even find repair shops. I identified and addressed the needs of users as well as the framework and modularity that such an application must provide to appeal to the automakers and insurers that brand the application.

To guide and direct the organization and its development teams, I used various methods that specified the design and architecture of the solution even before visual wireframes were produced. Alongside roadmapping, user testing, prototyping and marketing efforts, this project included the full spectrum of UX and UI design services.

Volvo, alongside other carmakers and insurers have already branded and deployed the solution — or are in the process of doing so.

Design guidelines

A typical output that you can expect from me for an app are design guidelines. They help implementation and development efforts by giving clear design guidance across a wide array of topics including colors, typography, layout and grids, positioning and sizing, animations, workflows, image and video integration, iconography and screen design.

IMAGE ARTIFACTS

Beyond the research, ideation, design, prototyping and documentation efforts, I typically generate all image artifacts for your projects to minimize hiccups during implementation. In case of an app, these might include resolution-specific images for iOS, Android or other destination platform.
